When a loved one needs hospice care, many families have the same question:
“How much does it cost, and who pays for it?”
At Hospice Care Options, we want you to know that hospice care is often fully covered, and finances should never be a barrier to receiving compassionate end-of-life care.
Hospice Care Is Covered by Medicare
Most patients receiving hospice care qualify for Medicare Hospice Benefit, which covers nearly all hospice services at little to no cost to the patient. This includes:
- Medical equipment and supplies
- Medications related to the terminal diagnosis
- Visits from nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and more
- Respite care for caregivers
- Grief and bereavement support for the family
There are no deductibles, and very few out-of-pocket expenses for services related to hospice care under Medicare.
What About Medicaid or Private Insurance?
For those not on Medicare, Medicaid (in many states, including Georgia) also provides full hospice benefits similar to Medicare coverage.
If your loved one has private insurance, most plans also cover hospice care, though benefits can vary. Our team can help you verify and understand your specific coverage.
No One Is Turned Away
At Hospice Care Options, we believe everyone deserves dignity, comfort, and support at the end of life. We work with each family to ensure care is accessible, regardless of ability to pay. Financial concerns should never delay the care your loved one needs.
