Grief Therapy in Central Georgia
Camp Good Grief is a day camp fully funded by the Hospice Care Options Foundation and staffed by volunteers. Camp Good Grief lasts for three days and is currently held in Macon, Warner Robins, Milledgeville, Ocilla,and Eastman in the first few weeks after school ends for the summer. The Camp is for children ages 5 – 14 who have suffered any type of loss, whether from death, divorce, deployment, foster care, job loss or moving.
Children who attend Camp will enjoy art therapy, pet therapy, music therapy, recreation and group grief counseling to help them develop tools that will help them cope with loss and grief. The children also enjoy a morning snack and lunch at Camp each day. The various therapeutic activities are provided by professionals who are trained in working with grieving children. Camp Good Grief is completely free of charge to all campers.
